(A series of my paintings)
THE REDISCOVERY OF BEING is a discordant collision and intermingling of fluid bodies, identities, existence and selves.
Much of this has been inspired by the chaos and confusion
that comes with trying to understand one’s identity, expression, existence and neurodivergence - all boiling down to how you want to live your life.
Who you are while living that life is ever-changing. The second you give it a name, it changes, the second you come closer to identifying it, it changes.
These pieces are tangible proof of your reality being your own,
with no one having the say or power to come in and tell you it doesn’t exist.
Your body being a living proof and documentation of all that you have experienced, all that you will, your desires from your life, the emotions you may have felt
or carried with yourself as you navigate through life.
My own existence seems real to me through painting, as it is a form of unmasking for me - a safe space where everything exists on my own terms and does so with full authenticity.
The Rediscovery of being seeks to help create a space real enough
for viewers to sit down with their own realities and experiences and let them sink in, away from all forms of critical gaze, even their own.
